How We Wore It Together | High Waisted

This post is dedicated to my HWWI girls. Love you!

Brittany

I’ve known Brittany for 9 years. I met her when she did my husbands family photos. It was one of her first photography sessions. I loved her photos then, and I love them even more know. Brittany is a crazy, amazing photographer. Very gifted and natural.
What I love about Brittany is that she is fierce. She is decisive, which is something I really need in a friend. I often facetime her to get her opinion on things and she’s always there for me to help me.  I love that whenever she talks about her husband, it’s always positive and you can just tell how crazy she is about him. Brittany has had a heck of a year. Her husband, Mikail, was diagnosed with cancer and they have been battling that together. I love you, Brittany.

Chelan

Chelan is the HWWI sister that I’ve known the longest. We’ve known each other for 21 years… that makes me feel old. I started dancing when I was 7 and we were in the same dance classes growing up. She is an incredible, incredible dancer and choreographer. Just like her gorgeous mama, whom I also love. I was always a tad envious of how amazing Chelan was/is at dancing. She has excellent taste in music and clothing.
What I love about Chelan is how grounded she is. I love watching her Instagram stories and reading her posts. I love how kind and sweet she is. We got to have a little one on one time during this shoot and I really wish it could’ve been a few hours more. Chelan is a fellow med-student wife. She and her hubby, Parker, are so gosh-darn cute together. Chelan is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.

Jordan

I think I’ve known Jordan for approximately 12 years. Maybe 11. She was the new girl in town and the new, amazing dancer in our dance studio. I have loved getting to know Jordan more through theatre and through our HWWI series. Jordan is what they call a “Triple Threat.” She sings. She acts. She dances. And she is a knockout in all areas. I’m certain that I’ve never heard an unkind word come out of Jordan’s mouth. She has such a stunning smile. What I love most about Jordan is her mothering nature. She was here at Christmas time and we were able to get together. She talked about how much she loves being with her kids and how she wants to be with them so she can nurture them. That really stuck with me. She is still head over heels for her husband, Tim. It’s the cutest.

I love these empowering women who are kind and honest, strong and beautiful.

Hannah … That’s me.

I… well, here comes the vulnerability. But lately, I’ve been feeling a sense of “loss of self.” I’ve discovered that I’m a people pleaser. I always have been. I’m not a brown-noser, but I do aim to please. I can’t decide if that’s a good thing or not but I’m trying to figure out who I am in the midst of it all. I don’t really know how to describe it but I thought I’d give writing a few things that I love about me a try.

I love that I love being a mom. I love that that’s something I’ve always wanted. I love planning parties and that I’ve developed the skills to pull off some semi-Pinterest-worthy ones. I’m currently helping to plan my sister’s wedding, her bridal shower and her bachelorette party, my friends baby shower and my 10-year high school reunion- all taking place throughout the next four weeks! That is not bragging. That is a plea for PRAYERS OF SANITY! Ha! I love that I’m able to get along with lots of different personality types. I often take a personal inventory to see what areas I need to improve in, and I like that I’m able to do that.

Together.

I’m pretty tickled that all four How We Wore It sisters were all in the same place at the same time! In the almost 3 years that we’ve been blogging together, this is the FIRST time we’ve all been together! I love these blogger-beauty-babes. We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get together and do a shoot for July’s post… which… FEWF! Here we are last minute-ing it! We’re wearing our best mom jeans, high waisted hiders! Ha! That’s what I’m calling them anyway. I love how they just kind of tuck everything (my mommy-tummy) in all safe and secure. Haha. Thanks to the combined efforts of Matlin, Brittany, and myself… we got these photos done!
