We’ve Been Framed
A few months ago, Fay asked me if I could make an appointment for her to get her eyes checked. I brushed it off as just having a “fuzzy eye moment” or something. She seemed to see perfectly fine from what I could tell. She asked me a few more times and then her school teacher asked me to book her with the optometrist because she was having trouble seeing the board. Oh! #badmommymoment
So I booked both of the girls in and ba-da-boom ba-da-bing. They both needed prescription glasses.
Recently, we had a fun opportunity to take some photos with our friends Andrea and Angie. They are excellent at consistently posting for their new lifestyle blog. I’ve linked to their blog below. Andrea and Angie invited us to meet with the Optical Diva herself, Michelle Vorbrock, to try on some frames. I’ve had the pleasure of working with this incredible woman back in our clinic days. She is one of the nicest people I have ever met. And… she is insanely beautiful, both in and out. She is currently the Calvin Klein Brand Specialist for Canada!

We had a spec-tacular time modeling these stunning Calvin Klein frames. (Marchon frames on the littles)
We learned all about the Dos and Don’ts of choosing, fitting, and wearing frames.
Two things I found super valuable:
1. Kids should have their eyes checked every year! In Alberta, kids’ eye exams are covered by Alberta Health Care until the day before their 19th birthday! WOW! When choosing frames for your child, make sure they fit now. Don’t get frames that they’ll “grow into.” By the time they grow into those frames, chances are that their prescription will have changed.
2. There are anti-fatigue lenses and a blue light-blocker coating available for people like me who don’t use a prescription. This lens and coating help to protect our eyes from all the electronic screens that we stare at while working or scrolling. (Of course, this coating is available for prescription lenses as well.)
Andrea and Angie talk more with Michelle about all the Dos and Don’ts as well as fashion trends, so be sure to check out their post today too.

A huge shout out and thanks to these incredible Mommy Bosses, Andrea and Angie, and Michelle for inviting us to collab with them!

Thanks for scrolling… now treat your eyes to a pair of spiffy blue-blocking/anti-fatigue lenses!
